Top 3 Rated Zeiss Rifle Scopes

The Carl Zeiss company is known as a maker of many high end optical instruments, among other things. One of their product lines is rifle scopes, and they are amazing scopes, as on would expect from a German company that specializes in high end optics. Two of optics that we found to be top rated are from their middle of the road price range Conquest line, which offers many features of the high end scopes, while being affordable enough for the average middle class hunter to be able to afford. The last one is from the Terra product line, which is the entry level Zeiss scope, though it still retains all of the most important Zeiss features. This list of the three top rated Zeiss scopes will help you find what you are looking for quickly and efficiently!

#1 Carl Zeiss Optical Conquest HD5 5-25×50 Rapid-Z 1000 Ballistic Reticle Rifle Scope with Lockable Target Turret

Source: Zeiss.com

Magnification:5 x-25x

Objective Lens: 50mm

OAL (overall length):  14 inches

Weight:  26.6 oz

POU (philosophy of use): This German made scope is ideal for the target shooter as well as the long range hunter. With up to 25x zoom, this scope allows you to get a good view of far off objects, allowing you to make use of the bullet drop compensation reticle that is made to be used out to 1000 yards. This scope is also incredibly compact for having a 25x zoom, which is also a great thing for those who are using this scope for hunting. This scope is also water resistant, which makes it great for hunting use, since you don’t need to worry about getting caught out in the rain and ruining your scope.

#2 Carl Zeiss Optical Inc Conquest Riflescope with Reticle 20 Hunting Turret (3.5-10×50 MC)

Source: Zeiss.com

Magnification: 3.5x-10x

Objective Lens: 50mm

OAL (overall length):  13.2 inches

Weight: 17.11 oz

Tube Diameter: 1 inch

POU: This scope has a wide field of view, due to it’s 50mm objective lens. The wide field of view allows this scope to be right at home everywhere from the dense brushes of the east coast to the thick rainforests of the northwest, and everywhere in between. The large objective lens also is great for dusk and dawn shots, because it captures more light than scopes with smaller objective lenses, making the target appear brighter than it would in the other scopes. The water resistance also allows it to be right at home in the outdoors no matter what the weather’s like. This scope is a great scope for most hunters where most of the shots are from short to medium ranges, with the occasional long shot, where the 10x zoom would be quite handy.

#3 Carl Zeiss Terra 3-9×42 Plex Riflescope

Source: Zeiss.com

Magnification: 3x-9x

Objective Lens: 42mm

OAL (overall length): 12.4 inches

Weight:  14.8 oz

Tube Diameter: 1 inch

POU: While this is the cheapest of the scopes on this list, this scope is still jam packed with features. For starters, this scope is guaranteed to be able to be removed and replace on a rifle and have at the most a 1/4 MOA (minute of angle) shift in point of impact. This scope also includes an anti-reflective coating on the objective lens to enhance the contrast between different objects in your sights. This, as well as it’s slightly about average objective lens size allow you better low light  shots than your average scope, which is important for hunting, since dawn and dusk are when a lot of shots present themselves while hunting. Finally, the low price, yet high quality of this optic makes it a great choice for a first time hunter to get his money’s worth for a scope and not break the bank.
